Project: To supply and lay parquet flooring in herringbone design in a newly built glazed ground floor extension to an Arts and Crafts house. The new area was approximately 45sqm. The flooring was to be fitted to match existing parquet in lounge, dining room, study and hall. The existing parquet (some 65sqm.) had been partially removed to allow for the insertion of steel beams. In so doing, damage had resulted which we feared might be irreparable and considerable remedial work was required to make the entire area one large cohesive space.
Outcome: Tom proved an excellent source of advice as to how best to tackle the project and we accepted his recommendations. We were most impressed, as were our builders, at the care and diligence that Tom’s team displayed in repairing the existing parquet, such that it is impossible to identify where damage had previously occurred. Their carpentry skills in blending old and new parquet blocks to achieve a consistent, stylish finish has added immeasurably to the overall look of our renovation, balancing traditional craftsmanship with modern design. The team were engaging and friendly, and worked well with our builders. The attached photos give an idea of what has been achieved. We are extremely pleased to recommend WoodFloorers in every respect.
